Tyler is a master's student in the Biological Systems Engineering department, exploring the viability of a transparent or semi-transparent crop production system for a site near the lunar south pole. He holds a degree in Biological Systems Engineering from the University of California, Davis, where he led a project to develop a hypobaric growth chamber to study the effects of novel atmospheres on plants. Tyler also holds a degree in Evolution, Ecology, and Biodiversity with a focus in plant metabolism from the University of California, Davis.
